Introducing Nixie Fae

Nixie Fae is starting her modeling career and excited to explore new modeling ideas and themes. Our first meeting took over five hours and we created so many different looks and genres it will keep me busy editing over the course of the next month. We changed wardrobe and lighting throughout the session including lingerie, swimwear, stockings, and more. I have included a small selection of images from her session here.

Studio Portraits with Rhiannon

Introducing Rhiannon Wolfe. I have had very few opportunities in the past year to work with new people due to the Covid-19 restrictions but with patience and several rescheduled sessions I was able to arrange to work with the amazing Rhiannon. We shot together over the course of several hours and created a wide variety of content that we are sharing with you in each of our portfolios. The images below are a short introduction to her session and I hope to be sharing more soon.

More Studio Portraits with Jay

I had the good fortune to work with Jay for another amazing photo shoot. We shot together for nearly two hours and came up with some stunning images. I have been exploring the art of shibari rope bindings and Jay has been wonderful in helping me to apply those techniques in our sessions. Our most recent session included a wide range of genres including portraits, boudoir, glamour, bindings and bondage. For more of those sessions you can find them on my other page: Eden's Edge Studio

More Studio Portraits with Ophelia

I had the good fortune to work with Ophelia again recently and created a wide variety of looks for her beginning with this cute outfit of daisy dukes and a gray tanktop. I used a three-light setup with two gridded softboxes on either side of the camera and the third light was a small gridded spotlight high to the right used as a hairlight. I have included my favorite shots of this first look below:

Be warned that content on that page is for mature audiences and some images are Not Safe For Work. Below you will find a beautiful series of portraits from our first session together.

No Evil

Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil

I love this series. There are so many ways to interpret each pose. The images I composited all seemed such a good match to each other, but I will include some outtakes as well. You can find the full post of No Evil on Eden's Edge Studio

Homecoming at the Park

Getting pictures to document the homecoming dance don't have to cost a fortune or be cookie-cutter style with generic backdrops at the school. I met these kids at the park where we got a variety of poses from formal to goofy all in the space of half an hour.

CAKE SMASH!!!

Why should cake smashing be limited to first birthdays?
Kahlan celebrated her 30th birthday on her own terms and had a blast doing it!

Kahlan - First Photos

I have yet to share all of my favorite sets with Kahlan. I have had limited shooting time with her, but each of our sessions has gone over two hours and produced hundreds of images from each. I have picked a few favorites in the past but was hesitant to share too much. I have gone back through many sessions and hope to be posting more models soon. This session was held on location in a bed & breakfast and offered a new depth I could not achieve since closing my studio.

The mirror came with the room
I brought my camera and set the lighting,
But it was Kahlan who brought life to the images.

Lacey In Lace

Here is another set from my session with Lacey. I love the play of dark and light of the lingerie and the sheer wrap. These images are playful and fun while capturing a variety of expressions and poses. I wanted the black background so there would be a beautiful contrast of Lacey standing out against it. By eliminating any distraction in the background, the focus is set just on her.

Introducing Lacey

Lacey is a part-time model who graciously agreed to help me build my portfolio and hers while playing around in my studio. We shot for over two hours, and had tons of fun playing around with lighting, props, wardrobe, and lots of fun poses. I have so many favorites from our session, it will take time to share more of them.

Dia de los Muertos :: A Do-it-Yourself Mask

While shopping a few weeks ago, I came across a flimsy Day of the Dead mask with an attached veil. I liked the concept of the piece, but I wasn't impressed with the execution. I wanted to make a mask using some of the skills I have developed over the years painting on canvas. I knew I had a blank white mask at home, as well as a section of black lace fabric. The rest of the build is pretty much just paint. The only item I had to purchase is the purple flowers attached at the very end.

Revisiting Maternity Favorites with Chenisse

I am looking forward to new photo sessions and opportunities to provide beautiful photos to new clients. One of my personal favorite subjects to photograph is maternity. Whether it is fine-art or a photo-journalistic style, capturing the moments in a woman's life as she is transforms into a mother is a pleasure and an honor to be made a part. I like to capture the emotional interaction between a woman and her unborn baby.

As an artist, I am a trained observer who gently directs classic poses which help her be more natural without feeling self-conscious or awkward. My goal is to create images that go beyond snapshots and would not feel out of place in a coffee-table book. For anyone who is seeking a photographer to document her pregnancy, please contact me through the link at the bottom of this post.

In the mean time, I am revisiting my work from a progression series of maternity photos with re-edits and new favorites. Every now and then I go back through sessions from years ago and I am drawn to different images than I had initially culled into my favorites. I continue to learn about and experiment with new editing techniques. In my revisits I find images that fit well into these new, varied techniques and am able to apply them. This brings to light new and expanded perspectives within my portfolio.

Below are many newly edited selections I have added to my portfolio. Enjoy!

Kahlan: Model Portraits

Its always great when a model will help you realize a creative concept.

Kahlan is a wonderful model to work with, and makes selecting favorites a challenge because of the sheer number of good poses she is able to achieve. I came to her with several different ideas in poses and lighting and she was happy to help.

Introducing Kahlan

I met Kahlan through Model Mayhem. You can find more about her here. We both wanted to improve our portfolios, but without a studio, it proved difficult to find a suitable location. We were able to use a small bed and breakfast for our shoot, and made use of the decor as our backdrop. She brought several outfits, and we also used items from my kit to achieve different looks and combinations during our session. She has a large tattoo of angel wings across her back which made for some very cool looking images.
